We are honored to share that the RB Simms WTF Improvements project has received a 2024 Engineering Excellence Award. The ACEC-SC Engineering Excellence Awards highlight and celebrate the most exceptional engineering accomplishments of the year, which emphasize innovation, complexity, achievement, and value. We are thrilled to receive this recognition from ACEC-SC and proud of the team’s commitment to delivering an outstanding project for our community.

Spartanburg Water is among the oldest water systems in South Carolina. It was established in 1929 as the Spartanburg Metropolitan District and has since then been providing top-notch drinking water to its customers. Our team completed the improvements project which prioritized collaboration and ingenuity, while also ensuring that the cost and schedule requirements of the client were met. We employed virtual construction methods and explored value engineering applications to achieve quality results for Spartanburg Water.

Our team sincerely appreciates Spartanburg Water and HDR, Inc.’s collaborative efforts in bringing forth an outstanding water treatment facility for the Spartanburg community. The success of this project is a testament to the dedication and contributions of our exceptional project teams, safety support personnel, and esteemed project partners. Through our team’s efforts, we significantly contributed to the local water sector by providing a safe, clean, and sustainable water treatment facility. We express our sincere gratitude to Spartanburg Water for entrusting us with this pivotal project, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact this facility has on the local water sector.
