We are honored to announce that the Georges Creek WRRF Chemical Feed System project has received an Engineering Excellence Award from ACEC-SC in 2026. This recognition highlights exceptional engineering accomplishments that prioritize innovation and value.
Harper partnered with Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) to deliver a multi-phase upgrade to the Georges Creek Water Resource Recovery Facility, addressing aging chemical and polymer feed systems critical to plant operations. The project involved demolishing outdated equipment, installing new chemical feed pumps and 8,000-gallon tanks, and later expanded to the Biosolids Building with the addition of a second centrifuge and a new polymer feed system. These improvements increased process reliability, efficiency, and capacity.
Working within an active facility introduced complex challenges, including the need for temporary chemical and polymer bypass systems, winter operations, and extensive electrical and control integrations. Through close coordination with ReWa, the engineer, and subcontractors, Harper’s team maintained uninterrupted service, adhered to safety standards, and kept the schedule on track. The new system enhances control, reduces chemical usage, and enables the plant to grow sustainably for the future. We are thankful for the trust and collaboration ReWa placed in us to upgrade their award-winning facility.
