Watauga County selected Harper as the CM At-Risk for the Watauga County Community Recreation Center. Harper provided both preconstruction and construction services. Preconstruction services included site, systems, and materials analysis, constructability review, value engineering, and three budget iterations. Harper additionally performed all site-work, construction, and closeout services for the project.
This 96,148 SF facility houses a competition pool and a leisure pool with a suspended viewing area, four basketball courts, suspended running track upstairs, fitness area, and administrative offices. The facility has office space to serve the Watauga County Parks and Recreation staff. The Recreation Center was constructed using masonry and exterior framing with curtain-wall, stone veneer, IPE wood, metal cladding, and a standing-seam metal roof with TPO crickets.
