The City of Walhalla teamed up with Harper as a design-builder to design, engineer and construct an expansion of the City’s current water system and provide better service to the members of the community. Harper partnered with Goodwyn Mills Cawood (design engineer) and HDH Construction (subcontractor) to help make this a successful project. This project’s scope consisted of 10,000’ of 12” waterline as well as multiple service connections, fire hydrants, isolation valves, and a creek crossing on Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway 11. This creek crossing spans over 60’ of Cane Creek to help better serve the residents on the north side of West Union.
INNOVATIVE METHODS
Harper worked closely with the City of Walhalla to perform this work within the contract duration, despite potential unforeseen material delays and lead times. Our team provided value-engineering options and implemented necessary improvements to the waterline while staying within the original proposed budget.
