Project Description

Harper constructed a new 0.75MGD wastewater treatment plant. The work consisted of new headworks, influent pump station, EQ tank, sedimentation basin improvements, oxidation ditches, clarifiers, RAS/WAS pump station, disc filters, aerobic digester, UV disinfection, effluent pump station, drip field, line work, administration building, and site improvements.

INNOVATIVE METHODS
Our team used 3D modeling to expedite the concrete schedule and enhance the overall quality of the project. We used this method to identify conflicts early, and avoid project delays and rework. Additionally, we used drone imaging to document the project site and mapping. We incorporated value engineering to provide cost savings back to the owner.

While this project was Design-Bid-Build and it received 4ea competitive bids, Harper prepared a list of over 50 different value engineering (VE) ideas for the client to review. Each option was an effort to maximize project value – reducing cost without sacrificing operability. The final scope of the project included some of the VE options and as a result provided money back to the client.
