Navigating the upgrade of a water treatment facility’s aging infrastructure requires a team that understands the challenges associated with construction of a complex water system. In 2019, Spartanburg Water, one of the most established water systems in South Carolina, selected Harper as its CM At-Risk to rehabilitate one of its three major water treatment facilities – the RB Simms Water Treatment Facility.
From the use of extensive virtual construction methods, maintaining plant operations during construction, exploring value engineering applications, and collaborating with our entire project team, we developed an innovative plan that exceeded Spartanburg Water’s expectations.
WaterWorld Magazine recently covered our efforts on the raw water feed system’s rehabilitation including how we met challenges associated with upgrading the facility and unique solutions offered to deliver a masterclass in construction.
