Doug Harper

Doug Harper was raised in a family that has been in the construction industry for generations. He began his career with Harper in 1974, immediately upon graduating from Clemson University with a Building Science degree. Starting as a Project Manager, Doug rose through the ranks and became President in 1985, a position he held for close to 30 years. He was the third generation of Harpers to lead the company that was built on the legacy established by his grandfather and father before him. Doug led Harper through many years of growth and established the company as one of the leading contractors in South Carolina. He has also served in leadership roles in many industry, charitable, and community organizations including the Upstate SC Alliance, Clemson University, and Carolinas AGC. Now Chairman of Harper, Doug remains active in the company providing strategic direction and focusing on developing and maintaining relationships with new and long-term clients.
